I spent Christmas and New Year’s Eve on a little island in the Andaman sea. I started 2010 there and wanted to end it at the same place. I had the same bungalow than last year but this time, the owner had built a ramp for me to get in. Thai people are so nice...

 There is only one road on the island. With the sand, moving is quite difficult but everything is possible. I have been transported by side-car, by boat, on arms, and even in one of the 4 cars of the island.

My principal activities were to sleep, eat, read and a bit of party too. I met many people, and especially a German couple who have helped me a lot around. Thanks to them!

The people from the resort I stayed in and myself went on a boat trip for a day. We went to the other side of the island and spent the day, relaxing on this very quiet and beautiful beach. On the way back, we stopped in a resort which have been rebuilt with very good taste and lots of stairs. The beautiful Mister Rum and Skip, the cool German guy, from my resort have carried me to the top so I could enjoy the view. I love this Island and will, one day, come back. This year, there was an internet access but I didn’t have my computer and my phone’s connexion was not working. So I was, with a great pleasure, cut off the world.

Here, they grow Avea, a tree out of which, they do natural rubber.

As I was on an island, I ate a lot of fish, shrimps, crabs, etc…, for nearly nothing. Such a happiness...

J’ai passé Noël et Nouvel An sur une petite île dans la mer Andaman. J’ai commencé 2010 à cet endroit et avais envie de la finir ici.Je suis retournée dans le même bungalow que l’année dernière, mais cette fois, le propriétaire m’avait construit une petite rampe afin d’y accéder plus facilement. Ils sont adorables ces Thais!

Cette île ne dispose que d’une route, ce qui ne facilite pas les déplacements avec le sable, mais avec un peu d’ingéniosité, tout est possible. On m'a donc promenée en side-car, en bateau, à bras et même en voiture alors qu’il n’y en a que 4 sur toute l’île.

Mes principales activités pendant ces 2 semaines ont été de manger, lire, dormir et faire un peu la fête aussi. J’y ai rencontré de nombreuses personnes dont un couple d’allemands qui ont été adorables et m’ont beaucoup aidé a me déplacer. Je les en remercie vivement car, ils n’avaient aucune obligation.

Les gens du resort ou je séjournai et moi-même avons fait une journée d’expédition autour de l’île. Nous nous sommes rendus de l’autre côté et avons profité du calme et de la beauté de l’endroit. Sur le chemin du retour, nous nous sommes arreté dans un resort qui vient d’être refait avec beaucoup de goût, et d’escaliers aussi. Le merveilleux Mister Rum et Squid, le super allemand de mon resort, se sont donc amusés à me porter tout en en haut afin que je profite pleinement de la vue. J’adore cette île et y retournerai certainement.

Cette année, il y avait une connexion Internet mais je n avais pas emmené mon ordi et la connexion de mon téléphone ne passait pas… Je me suis donc retrouvée, avec plaisir, coupée du monde.

Ici on cultive l’Evea, un arbe dont on utilise la sève pour faire du caoutchouc naturel. J’ai profité d’être sur cette île pour manger du poisson, des crevettes, du crabe, etc…, a un prix dérisoire. Que du bonheur...
